It’s been 40 years since the Australian Touring Car Championship moved to Group A and the first race for Group A touring cars was held at Winton, won by Jim Richards’ JPS BMW in the summer heat. Over August 1 to 3 more than 20 Legends of Bathurst will head to the 2025 Winton Festival of Speed to celebrate that anniversary, contesting the penultimate round of the 2025 Heritage Touring Cars series along the way.

Wrapping Up 2023 Round 2: Autumn Historic Warwick
After an incident packed round 1 at the Phillip Island Classic in March, it was very pleasing to see such a strong entry for round 2 at the HRCC’s Autumn Historic Warwick over May 12 – 14, 2023. 25 cars were entered for the event, which is just one short of our all-time record. Of course, nearly all of the Queensland-based competitors were there, and as usual we had strong support from our NSW friends and kudos to Nev Butler who made a solo trek all the way from Melbourne with his 2-litre Escort.
Baskerville, A Hidden Gem

After several months in hibernation, Heritage Touring Cars is set to burst back into action when we return to our spiritual home of Mount Panorama for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 over the 16th to 18th of October.
HTC Competitor Profile: Gary Chick and the Craven Mild Commodore
The Craven Mild Commodore is one of the first two Commodores to race in an Australian Touring Car Championship event. Competing throughout the 1980s, it contested fifteen rounds of the ATCC and eleven rounds of the Australian Endurance Championship, amongst many others. It was also driven by three Bathurst-winning drivers – Allan Grice, Bob Morris and John Smith, who won the 1980 Oran Park round of the ATCC in the car. In the hands of Gary Chick, it joined the Heritage Touring Cars series at the Phillip Island Classic earlier this year, and we couldn’t be happier.
